<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">years disruptions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page6R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">To our new teams I hope things are settling down and into a<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid5\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">routine, please don&#8217;t forget there are many people to help if you<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid6\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">feel you need assistance whether it be coaching training drills or <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid7\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Team Manager advice our committee have been around for a few<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid8\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">years and if we don?t have the expertise we can certainly find<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid9\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">someone who does.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page6R_mcid10\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Competitions have commenced<\/strong>;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid11\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Grading has been completed for most competitions now let us<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid12\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">know if you have concerns about where you?ve landed and we are<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid13\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">happy to discuss an address where possible. Each competition<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid14\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">stadium has an acted the basketball Victoria mandates on<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid15\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">vaccination requirements at this stage, we are lucky to only have a<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid16\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">few teams affected by the 12.2+ vaccination rule that was brought<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid17\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in last minute. Please be advised that you need to keep in touch<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid18\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">with your association and Stadium to monitor any changes that<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid19\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">may come up in the future particularly with games sometimes<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid20\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">being forfeited last minute due to isolation requirements. These<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid21\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are trying times but we should see the kids on the court a lot more<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page6R_mcid22\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">this season if we can do the right thing and keep everyone safe.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page7R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Training in the school gym<\/strong>;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Just a few housekeeping items and please I understand that not<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">everybody reads this so please pass it on to your teams, training has<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">recommenced at Pearcedale Primary school in the gym, we are so<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid5\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">fortunate to be provided this opportunity to show the school that we<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid6\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">can adhere to their guidelines and also look after the facilities. A roster<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid7\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">has been prepared for two teams per week to train inside and a<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid8\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">rotation with alternate outside training. When training inside the gym if<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid9\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">you are the last team to leave you need to make sure that the facilities<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid10\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are locked up! I know this seems like a big responsibility but it is part of<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid11\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">what we are given with the facilities and if you feel like you cannot<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid12\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">commit to this then please advise as we will need to reconsider<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid13\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">whether your team are able to use the gym facilities. For details about<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid14\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">locking up I will discuss and send a message to individual coaches.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid15\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Further at this stage and until further notice we would prefer a limited<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid16\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">amount of people inside the gym during training if the coach and one<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid17\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">other parent to assist can stay with the team and the rest can wait<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid18\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">outside until the end of the session to collect their children that would<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid19\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">be very much appreciated. Also please don&#8217;t forget to sign in using the<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid20\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">QR codes as is becoming standard practice in our lives. Training<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid21\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">equipment has been made available however we do have a shortage<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid22\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of size 5 balls and there is a set within the gym if your team require to<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid23\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">borrow that each week, this equipment is paid for by the club and we<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid24\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are not for profit so please take care of the equipment we understand<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid25\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">accidents happen but if we can work out an honesty system it will<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page7R_mcid26\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">benefit everybodys fees in the future.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page8R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Updates from Casey<\/strong>;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Dave is the founder of Sport and life Training (SALT) presented<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to the Casey domestic meeting this week.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">He is representing Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid5\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">spreading the word about the problems of gambling and looking<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid6\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for clubs to sign up to the charter for sporting clubs not to<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid7\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">promote gambling in anyway and instead promote &#8220;Love the <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid8\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">game &#8221; not the odds&#8221; <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid9\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Clubs who did not sign up at the meeting ca do so here &#8211;<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid10\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">https:\/\/lovethegame.vic.gov.au\/<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid11\" class=\"markedContent\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page8R_mcid12\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Some alarming stats &#8211; 1\/3rd of gamblers are men aged 18 to 24,<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid13\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">50% increase in betting over the last 5 years.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page8R_mcid14\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Casey also discussed about the issues around leniency with<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid15\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Under 8 refereeing meaning kids learn bad habits early on which<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid16\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are harder to break when they?ve played that way for a few<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid17\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">seasons. This is being addressed and brought to the attention of<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid18\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the head ref who will start to implement some changes in this<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid19\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">regard, so be aware the kids may get pulled up for more but it?s<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid20\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for long term gain and the refs should always explain clearly<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid21\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">their decisions to help the kids understand. The ruling has been<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid22\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">decided that Ideally refs should be able to give those beginners<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid23\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">struggling extra leeway, whilst being mores strict on the capable<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page8R_mcid24\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">players.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page9R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Referees<\/strong>;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Across all associations Covid has affected us in different ways one of the<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">main ways you will notice is new referees being trained so many were lost<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid5\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">due to the nature of the work over this extended lockdown period and so<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid6\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">new referees are being trained in many facilities which is putting a lot of<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid7\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">strain and pressure. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page9R_mcid7\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Please be kind and considerate most of these are young<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid8\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">children and your own may be in that position one-day however if there are<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page9R_mcid9\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">concerns please contact us and we will discuss it with the associations
